Preparing Dancers for Success

For aspiring dancers ages 9 to 19

This two-week program gives serious students ages 9-19 the opportunity to cap off their summer studies and prepare for the season ahead. An internationally illustrious faculty instructs students in technique, pointe, men’s, pas de deux, variations, and modern classes.

2020 Summer Programs Audition Dates
Updated Audition Information: Due to current events we are now accepting video auditions for the 2020 August Intensive. If you are filming the video at home and need to omit specific exercises for safety reasons, the faculty will understand. Please note that the $25 video audition fee is being waived through August 15th.

Video Audition Instructions and Application

Classes will be taught by the distinguished BAE year-round faculty and renowned guest teachers.

The 2020 August Intensive dates are August 24 – September 4.

The daily schedule will include ballet, pointe, variations, pas de deux, men’s class, men’s weight training, stretch, modern, and character classes. Students will receive their class schedule in July.


Any solid-color leotard with pink tights for ballet class and any solid-color leotard with footless tights for modern class. Skirts, sweatpants, leg warmers, and multi-strap or rhinestone-studded leotards are not permitted.

BAE student housing is available at the de Hirsch Residence, which is located one block from the school. For students 18 years and older, St. Mary’s Residence is another option a short distance from BAE.

BAE has a fully appointed apartment located near the school, which houses a small number of male students. This housing is in high demand, and availability goes very quickly. Inquiries should be sent to

Level A: $1,100

Levels B-F: $1,300

Upon notification of acceptance, a payment of 50% of the tuition is due within two weeks. The remaining balance is due by July 1st.

Payments may be made by check to Ballet Academy East, or credit card. Tuition is non-refundable.

Financial aid scholarships are available to those who qualify. Funds are limited and we recommend that you apply early. In addition to financial aid, Ballet Academy East offers a limited number of full and partial scholarships and housing stipends to male dancers.
