Junior Summer Course 2022

For aspiring dancers, ages 7 to 14

The BAE Junior Summer Course inspires dancers to reach their next level of achievement. The renowned BAE faculty, proven syllabus, and intensive curriculum provide students with the tools to attain technical and artistic growth. The rigorous curriculum is designed for highly talented and dedicated students. The Program is led by BAE Pre-Professional Division Principal, Jenna Lavin. Classes are taught by year-round BAE faculty members and distinguished guest artists.

We encourage you to apply to audition today to experience the exceptional training and warm, encouraging environment of BAE!

BAE will hold in person auditions at the school as well as accept video auditions. Click on the button for either the In Person Audition Form or the Video Audition Application to be considered for the 2022 Junior Summer Course.

2022 In Person Audition Dates:

Times for both dates:
Ages 7-8: 2:30-3:00pm
Ages 9-10: 3:00-3:45pm
Ages 11-12: 3:45-4:45pm
Ages 13-14: 4:45-5:45pm

Audition Fee: $25 (in person and video)

Program Dates: July 5 – August 12, 2022. Students accepted to the program may choose to enroll for Session I, Session II, or the full six-week course.

  • Full Six-Week Course: July 5-August 12
  • Session I (Three Weeks): July 5-July 22
  • Session II (Three Weeks): July 25-August 12

Program Days: Levels A, B and C classes are held five days a week, Monday-Friday. Level 1 program is held three days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. (There will be classes Saturday, July 9th as a make-up for Monday, July 4th.)

Registration: Accepted students will receive an email with a link to register. We highly recommend that you sign up quickly in order to secure your place. Once your assigned level fills, you will have the option to join the Wait List.

August Intensive Information

Curriculum: The comprehensive Junior Summer Course includes Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations, Men’s, Modern, Contemporary, Character, Hip Hop, Choreography, and Stretch & Strengthening. (Offerings will vary depending on level.)

Interactive seminars and workshops will be held in dance history as well as health & wellness topics.

Students will have the opportunity to meet and chat with professional dancers in our exciting and inspiring “Meet the Artist Summer Series”.

Schedule for Levels A, B, and C: Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM-4:30 PM (Start and end times may vary slightly.)

Schedule for Level 1: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9:15-10:45 AM (Start and end times may vary slightly.)

Ballet: Ladies should wear any solid color leotard with pink or flesh-toned tights and ballet slippers, pointe shoes (if applicable). Skirts, sweatpants, leg warmers, and multi-strap or rhinestone-studded leotards are not permitted. Gentlemen should wear any solid color tee shirt (no logos) with black or grey tights.

Character: Character shoes. Ladies should wear a black character skirt or any solid color ballet skirt.

Modern and Stretch/Strengthen: Ladies should wear any solid color leotard with pink, black, or flesh tone footless tights. Gentlemen should wear any solid tee shirt with gray or black footless tights.

Hip Hop: Shorts, sweatpants or dance wear, with sneakers

Dance History, Lecture Series, and Meet the Artist Series: Please bring a pen/pencil and notebook to class in case you want to take notes.

Financial aid scholarships are available to those who qualify.

Once you’ve auditioned by video or in person and have you’ve been accepted to the Junior Summer Course, please contact us to request a financial aid or Male Scholarship Fund application.
