Junior Summer Course 2021
For aspiring dancers, ages 7 to 14
The BAE Junior Summer Course inspires dancers to reach their next level of achievement. The renowned BAE faculty, proven syllabus, and intensive curriculum provide students with the tools to attain technical and artistic growth. The rigorous curriculum is designed for highly talented and dedicated students. Classes are taught by the renowned BAE faculty and distinguished guest artists, led by BAE Principal, Jenna Lavin.
Both In-Studio and Virtual Programs will be offered this summer. The In-Studio Program will be limited enrollment and strong safety measures in place. The Virtual Program will enable students to advance their training from the safety of their home.

All auditions will be held virtually via Zoom.
To be considered for an audition, please complete and submit the Audition Request Form. After you receive your invitation to audition, you will be asked to pay the $25 audition fee.

The Junior Summer Course will be held July 6 – August 13, 2021. Students accepted to the program may choose to enroll for Session I, Session II, or the full six-week course. Virtual students may choose a weekly enrollment option.
- Full Six-Week Course: July 6-August 13
- Session I (Three Weeks): July 6-July 23
- Session II (Three Weeks): July 26-August 13
Classes for Levels A, B and C will be held five days per week, Monday-Friday. The Level 1 Program is held three days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There will be class on the first Saturday of the program as a make-up for Monday, July 5th.
Upon acceptance to the Junior Summer Course, students will receive an email invitation with their level placement and enrollment instructions. We recommend that you reserve your place as soon as possible in order to secure your spot in the Program. Once the programs fill you will have the option to join the Wait List. BAE is not assisting with housing for the 2021 Summer Programs. There are many nearby hotels and short-term apartment rentals, including Courtyard by Marriott on East 92nd Street and Marmara Manhattan on East 94th Street.
Ballet Technique Classes:
Ladies: Any solid color leotard with pink or flesh-toned tights and ballet slippers, pointe shoes (if applicable). Skirts, sweatpants, leg warmers, and multi-strap or rhinestone-studded leotards are not permitted.
Gentlemen: Any solid color tee shirt (no logos) with black or grey tights
All Other Classes:
Character (Levels A,B,C): Either character shoes or ballet slippers. Ladies: Black character skirt or any solid color ballet skirt
Modern(Levels A, B, C): Footless tights and bare feet (men: gray or black tights, ladies: pink, black, or flesh colored tights)
Stretch/Strengthen (All levels) : Any solid-color leotard with either footless tights or rolled up tights
Hip Hop (Level C): Shorts, sweatpants or dance wear, with sneakers
